The Tunley Accounts Ledger

Tunley Rovers, Tunley Miners’ Welfare and Tunley Athletic, 1920 to 1976

Fifty-six years of the club's money, photographed page by page: subscriptions, gate takings, charabancs, referees, sweeps, dances and the season's balance, through the folds, the restarts and the change of name. Each photo is shown beside a typed version so the old figures are easy to follow.

Amounts are in pounds, shillings and pence until decimal money arrived in February 1971. A few pages were photographed upside down or sideways; they have been turned the right way up.

The typed text is a careful best estimate of what the writing says. The photo is the real record, so where they differ, trust the photo. The tablecloth behind each photo has been swapped for a plain dark background; the pages themselves are untouched.
